DESCRIPTION:The 2021 edition of the Power Electronics Event will take place online from June 8 till 10 June 2021. The main purpose of this event is to present the diversity of applications\, innovations and knowledge in the field of Power Electronics. \nUsers\, developers\, suppliers and knowledge institutes gather and knowledge\, visions\, experiences\, product and market developments are exchanged. \nKWx also contributes to this event by giving a presentation about protecting onboard DC power systems. Please sign up for this highly interesting technology event and learn about the latest developments within the field of power electronics. Participation is free! \nTitel: Protecting onboard DC power systems with solid-state DC breaker technology\nSpeaker: Peter van den Berg\, Technical Consultant\, KWx \nDC grids are an ideal solution to support the increased requirements of the onboard power (and in some cases energy storage) system. Proper protection however remains challenging. During this presentation we will present protection possibilities based on the solid-state DC breaker technology. Thanks to the ultra-fast switch-off times\, (within microseconds) it prevents arching in case of short-circuit situations. The following topics will also be presented: closed bus operation\, zone protection\, detection of single earth faults.
