SUMMARY:Electric & Hybrid Marine Virtual Live 2021
DESCRIPTION:We’re sponsoring and participating the very first virtual edition of the Electric and Hybrid Marine World Expo. During this event shipowners\, naval architects and engineers will present the next generation of electric and hybrid marine propulsion technologies. \nDuring the Power System session on January 20 we will present and discuss the following topics:\nDC grids are an ideal solution to support the increased requirements of the onboard power (and in some cases energy storage) system. Proper protection however remains challenging. Peter van den Berg -Consultant at KWx BV- and Andy Stöckli -CTO at Astrol Electronic AG- will present protection possibilities based on the solid-state DC breaker technology. Thanks to the ultra-fast switch-off times\, it prevents arcing in case of short-circuit situations. \nThe following topics will also be presented: \n\nClosed bus operation\,\nzone protection\,\ndetection of single earth faults.\n\nPlease check out the conference program and sign up for free.
